As a regular recipient of massage therapy, a life-changing session she received served as the “Aha!” moment she needed to pursue an additional career in massage therapy through NHI San Jose.

A Massage That Changed My Life
I’ve been a Tax Preparer for 20 years (I love it!) but I’ve been wanting something to fill my time from May thru December. I get a lot of massages during tax season to manage the stress. About 2 years ago I got a massage that changed my life. I walked out feeling like a ton of bricks fell off my shoulders, I felt like I had a new lease on life…like no matter what was going on in my life at the time, everything would be OK. I thought to myself, “Wow! If I could give someone all of that in 60 minutes that would be so fulfilling!”
So I looked online for massage schools and was really impressed by NHI’s reviews and how comprehensive their program is. I chose the San Jose massage school, NHI, because it was close to home, they have amazing reviews online, and their program doesn’t just teach the bare minimum, its comprehensive.
It’s Never Too Late to Reinvent Yourself
Going back to school to learn a new career at 41 is no small feat. It’s never too late to reinvent yourself. I was filled with self-doubt, but decided to push through my fears. I was pleasantly surprised to see many of my classmates were my age and older. Seeing them in class everyday gave me the reassurance I needed. I knew if they could do it, then I could too!
My teacher, Cheryl, is one of those truly special people that has impressive experience in the field, and who encourages me to nurture my mind, body, heart and soul. The San Jose campus is a very special place filled with teachers who love what they do, and treat each other like family. This directly impacts the learning environment they provide, which is always safe, inclusive, supportive and fun.
No Matter Who You are, You can’t go Wrong with NHI
The NHI San Jose Campus Manager, Josh, is amazing! He works hard to make sure every student succeeds, and his door is always open for any issues or concerns I might have along this journey. I truly believe that no matter who you are, you can’t go wrong with NHI.
I could not be happier with my decision. After the core program I plan to work at a massage spa, helping people manage their stress and tension. My life has opened up in so many ways, from all the new people I’ve met and new experiences I’ve had. I can’t wait to see where this massage journey takes me!
